Great idea. Unfortunate URL.
Before the legacy banks made the online investment they eventually had to, X.com was a pioneer in online banking, offering all the services and benefits of a brick-and-mortar bank.
As you might have guessed, the problem was that their URL brought to mind significantly less reputable websites consumers had visited.
